Who Should You Choose to Inject Your BOTOX® Cosmetic?

3 Minute Read:

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple injection. Right?

This is what many women and men believe. Because of that, they may not give much thought to where they go to get their routine neuromodulator injections.

However, even though BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a surgical procedure, such as facelift surgery, brow lift surgery, or eyelid surgery, it still requires extreme skill to ensure that it is injected in the correct location. This is why you should always choose a skilled plastic surgeon to perform your injection.

What Is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a neuromodulator that is injected into active facial muscles to reduce the appearance of expression-causing lines and wrinkles.

These may include:
  • Frown lines (“11” lines in between the eyebrows)
  • Crow’s feet
  • Forehead lines
  • Bunny lines
  • Marionette lines
  • Nasolabial folds (parenthesis lines between the nose and mouth)

Unlike other injectables, BOTOX® Cosmetic does not plump the skin or add volume of any kind. Instead, it works by blocking chemical signals between the brain and muscles that cause the muscles to contract. This relaxation allows for smoother, wrinkle-free facial skin.

Even though BOTOX® Cosmetic blocks movement, the effects only last for a few months, and long-term side effects have not been noted. When performed by a skilled injectable provider, BOTOX® Cosmetic is very safe.

Where Can I Go for BOTOX® Cosmetic Injections?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is by far the most popular cosmetic treatment (surgical or non-surgical).

Because of this, it makes sense that everyone wants to get in on the action, and it is common to see clinics offering BOTOX® Cosmetic nearly everywhere, from shopping centers to hairdressers’ offices to dental practices.

The problem with this is that not every provider is trained in the proper application of BOTOX® Cosmetic.

In Georgia, BOTOX® Cosmetic can only be injected at licensed medical facilities and medical spas under the supervision of a physician.

What Can Go Wrong With BOTOX® Cosmetic?

As previously stated, BOTOX® Cosmetic is very safe when injected by a trained physician.

Unfortunately, in unskilled hands, BOTOX® Cosmetic may be injected in the wrong facial areas or to the wrong depth, and the injectable may travel beyond the intended muscles. This leads to unnatural results and potentially dangerous consequences.

Additionally, some facilities offering BOTOX® Cosmetic may not be medical practices, and there is no guarantee of a sterile, clean environment. This leaves BOTOX® Cosmetic recipients at risk for bacteria and infections.

Why Should I Choose Advanced Aesthetics?

The best way to get BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments and injectables is to approach a qualified, highly professional medical facility where you can get the safest, most effective results.

The physicians at Advanced Aesthetics are highly trained and skilled in all neuromodulator and dermal filler injectables. They understand the proper placement and injectable amount to use and are trained to know what to do in case of any complications.
