When you’re in Atlanta, it’s easy to forget that fun and interesting things to do, eat, and see exist south of the bustling city. In fact, Peachtree City includes some of our favorite restaurants, activities, and shopping.
Following is our itinerary for a perfect sunny day in Peachtree City!
Every busy day should start out with a tasty, well-rounded breakfast, and Mimi’s Good Food in Peachtree City is the perfect stop. Their menu contains the usual suspects, cooked to perfection and sure to hit the spot.
Once you’ve had your fill, head over to Peachtree City Disc Golf Course to work off your breakfast with a game of frisbee golf. It’s still early enough in the day that you will enjoy being outdoors without scorching, and you’ll have the perfect backdrop for a bit of competitive fun.
After you’ve finished the course, try renting a golf cart to explore the city from a different vantage point. The entire community has golf cart paths, meaning you can easily hit all the stops on our list.
When your stomach starts rumbling again, there are a variety of restaurants serving up good eats. Our favorite lunch spots include Green Ginger for enjoying a cool drink, delicious sushi and asian fusion dishes, and Grazing Here if you’re in the mood for a juicy, grass-fed burger.
If fishing sounds like the perfect way to spend an afternoon, head over to Lake Kedron. This man-made reservoir hosts a variety of wildlife and beautiful vistas, however, note that swimming is prohibited.
For those who have no wish to string a worm on a hook, check out Line Creek Nature Area instead. This 70-acre public reserve offers a huge variety of activities and habitats, and you’ll love spending the afternoon hiking, swimming, and exploring.
As the day winds down, head over to Georgia Shrimp Co. for an elegant atmosphere and delicious seafood. Want something a little more laid back? Try Big Daddy’s Oyster Bar and don’t forget to sample some of their amazing appetizers! If you have room for more after dinner, stop by Gigi’s Cupcakes for a sweet, unique treat. (Our favorites are the Merry Margarita and Chocolate Salted Caramel!)
If you’re still not quite ready to go home, end your day at one of our favorite book stores, Omega Books, getting lost in a story or discovering your new favorite series. Or you can hop over to The Avenue shopping center to pick out a new outfit.
