How Is Gynecomastia Treatment Performed?
Gynecomastia treatment is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia or sedation and usually takes 1 – 2 hours. Depending on the cause and severity, the surgeon may use liposuction to remove excess fat or make small incisions around the areola to excise firm glandular tissue. In some cases, both techniques are combined for optimal contouring and a flatter, more masculine chest. The incisions are placed discreetly to minimize visible scarring, and the chest is reshaped for a natural, balanced result.
