How Is A Thigh Lift Performed?
Thigh lift surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia and generally takes 2 – 3 hours, depending on the extent of correction needed. During an inner thigh lift, one of our plastic surgeons makes carefully placed incisions in the groin area, sometimes extending down the inner thigh, to remove excess skin and fat while tightening the underlying tissues. For patients needing more comprehensive reshaping, incisions may also be made along the outer thigh or hip crease to achieve smoother, firmer contours. Once the excess tissue is removed and the thighs are reshaped, the skin is redraped and sutured for natural-looking results. Most patients return home the same day, beginning the recovery process and gradually seeing improved leg contour as healing progresses.
